Our history

Ringier Serbia established in 1996 is a part of the Swiss media group Ringier AG, operating in Central and Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa.

1996

The company was founded on April 2nd 1996 under the name Blic Press  d.o.o. The first issue of the daily newspaper Blic was launched on  September 16th. The circulation was around 300.000 copies. Blic was the only opposition newspaper.

1997

Veselin Simonovic becomes the deputy of the editor in chief Manojlo Vukotić.

1998

Part of the editorial board, headed by Manojlo Vukotić separates in order to found Glas javnosti. Veselin Simonovic becomes editor in chief of Blic, still maintaining high circulations. Redesign of the newspaper.

1999

At the time of bombing the company was working under the difficult circumstances. The company changed its location, and Blic was printed in three different printing houses. Blic is still the only opposition newspaper. New title Euro Blic appears in Republika Srpska. Site Blic online is launched.

2000

Blic follows the change of the regime on October 5th, despite the difficult ncircumstances regarding production and paper supply. Change of the founders on 28.11.2000. – Gruner & Jahr AG & Co. is one of the founders(49%).

2003

The whole circulation of Blic is printed in the new printing plant APM Print.

2004

Swiss company Ringier entered the market. Regional editions of Blic are launched – Province of Vojvodina, Serbia, Belgrade on the increased number of pages. Blic žena is launched.

2005

Blic Europe is launched. This title achieved decent results.

2006

Magazine Pulse is launched in March, and in September the first free daily newspaper 24sata.

2007

Tabloid ALO is launched in September. Blic online has been redesigned.

2008

Jelena Drakulić Petrović becomes General Manager of Ringier in Serbia.

2010

Launch of the e-commerce site NonStopShop and travel site SuperOdmor. On November 1st company changed its business name to Ringier Axel Springer d.o.o. The first integrated newsroom in the region was introduced.

2012

Acquisition of portals Nekretnine.rs and Mojauto.rs.

2013

In September, Ringier Axel Springer officially launched its printing plant in New nBelgrade, which has been expanded to a total of 4,800 m2 and equipped with modern newspaper printing press and high-capacity.

2015

Ringier Axel Springer Serbia launched Media Impact Srbija – the largest integrated advertising-sales organization in Serbia.

2016

Digital Media Campus Serbia started. Launched NOIZZ.rs – portal for Millennials and all users active on social media.

2017

Ringier Axel Springer Serbia initiated the founding of the Digital Serbia Initiative with the aim of making Serbia the center of digital innovation in the region.

2019

From August 2019. address of Ringier Axel Springer headoffice is at the Kosovska 10.

2021

We was awarded with the “Great Place To Work”, prestigious international certificate.


2022

Ringier AG has completed the acquisition of the Axel Springer SE shares in Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia and the Baltic states announced on 28 July 2021. This transaction sees Ringier taking another step forward in its international growth and investment strategy in the field of digital marketplaces and media brands.

2022

The sports portal Sportal.rs was launched on May 11, 2022, with the aim of quickly and timely bringing exclusive information and news from the world of sports, as well as interviews with the most relevant interlocutors.
